News Alert from the Washington State Office of National Parks Conservation Association
Dear Supporters of Olympic National Park,
There is a new emerging issue that I believe people on the peninsula, including those concerned with the EW Range may be interested in—the proposal to build an aerial tram from the Port Angeles Port to Hurricane Ridge!
NPCA is opposed to the construction of a tram to Hurricane Ridge as it would require an exemption to the Wilderness Act and would disturb many important park resources, including wildlife. You can read more about it at:
www.peninsuladailynews.com/article/20150125/NEWS/301259978
Please pass along the dates of these public meetings to your contacts and ask them to oppose building of the tram to Hurricane Ridge! Thanks.
Entrepreneur’s meetings:
Dan Williams has scheduled four public meetings in Port Angeles on his Port Angeles aerial tram proposal.
They will include question-and-answer sessions.
The first meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday [Jan. 29] in a Revitalize Port Angeles meeting at The Landing Mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave.
The other three will be Feb. 7, 14 and 21—all Saturdays—each at 10 a.m. at the Elwha Heritage Center, 401 E. First St.
